In an emergency, the first division is the first to act out and take defense even before a direct issue is ordered. The Captain's meeting hall also resides in the 1st division barracks. | | Nibantai (2nd) | Vacant | Vacant | This Division is directly tied to the Onmitsukidō as the Captain controls both them and the shinigami members of the 2nd Division. Not only that, but the top 5 seats of the 2nd division hold certain branches of the secret force. Usually the Lieutenant controls the Patrol Unit while the 3rd Seat controls the Detention Unit. Much Of the 2nd Division ties into close combat and stealth operations to carry out assassinations because its so closely tied to the Secret force. | | Sanbantai (3rd) | Vacant | Vacant | The 3rd Division has no special duties that are necessarily noted in the Gotei 13 as it serves as a free branch that can take up any duty that be called of it at any time. | | Yonbantai (4th) | Vacant | Vacant | The 4th Division Is mostly known for being the medical branch of the Gotei 13, however they are also the ones whom do the most labor as well: Cleaning, organizing, etc. The 4th Division members are further divided into relief teams by their captain. Moreover, unlike most shinigami, the 4th Division focuses their spiritual power on tending the wounds of injured shinigami rather than fighting, which s a reason why the 11th division detests them as they are more concerned about brute strength. | | Gobantai (5th) | Ryuunosuke Shira | Vacant | The 5th Division has no special duties that are necessarily noted in the Gotei 13 as it serves as a free branch that can take up any duty that be called of it at any time. It is rumored that their Captain is quite universal in terms of skill. | | Rokubantai (6th) | Vacant | Vacant | The 6th Division has no special duties that are necessarily noted in the Gotei 13 as it serves as a free branch that can take up any duty that be called of it at any time. Though, a characteristic of the members here tend to be that they are very strict to the rules of Soul Society. | | Nanabantai (7th) | Kou Kurason | Vacant | The 7th Division has no special duties that are necessarily noted in the Gotei 13 as it serves as a free branch that can take up any duty that be called of it at any time. The people whom reside in the 7th Division are known to be quite passionate about the Gotei 13's role in Soul Society. | | Hachibantai (8th) | Vacant | Vacant | The 8th division serves as a backup squad, just in case the first squad assigned to a task needs assistance or a rescue team. the people in this squad are quite skilled in offensive tactics as well as strategic ones. | | Kyūbantai (9th) | Yagyū Masamune Tesshū | Vacant | The 9th Division is the Security Force of the Gotei 13. because of this, they tend to patrol Rukongai to make sure that everything is in order and that everything is normal instead of suspicious. They are also ready to strike up combat with anything that threatens the security of Soul Society. The 9th Division is also the overseer of the arts, being encharge of the Seireitei news magazine. | | Jūbantai (10th) | Vacant | Vacant | The 10th Division has no special duties that are necessarily noted in the Gotei 13 as it serves as a free branch that can take up any duty that be called of it at any time. | | Jūichibantai (11th) | Himeko Amagi | Vacant | The 11th Division is dedicated to Zanjutsu (swordsmanship) more so then any other branch in the Gotei 13. They believe that fighting is what makes life in Soul Society worth living And thus revolve around sword-combat only. Every member in the 11th Division is highly trained and skilled in fighting an opponent, which is why the Division is in charge of Melee Combat. | | Jūnibantai (12th) | Vacant | Vacant | The 12 Division is directly linked to the Research and Development Institute, which gives them the task to create new spiritual tools/weapons on top of other things. To develop new technological and scientific discoveries are the Division lead occupation. The members of this Division also do research and collect data for their captain whom would be very intellectual in this field. | | Jūsanbantai (13th) | Vacant | Vacant | The 13th Division has no special duties that are necessarily noted in the Gotei 13 as it serves as a free branch that can take up any duty that be called of it at any time. |
